Time Zone

You might be planning an event in a different time zone than yours, or your guests are spread across several different time zones. WhenAvailable makes it easy to account for that!

When your guests are in a different time zone than the event is set for your guests will see the poll in both their own time zone (based on their browser/device location setting) and in the time zone the poll is create for. For example, if you are located in New York and create an poll with times in the Eastern time zone, your guest in Los Angeles will see the times in your poll in the Pacific time zone with an option to switch between the two time zones. If you don’t set a time zone the time zone will automatically be your current time zone based on your browser/device setting.

So, have you ever wondered how the poll looks to a guest who is in a different time zone? It is easy to see for yourself. Simply create a test poll and set the time zone for the event different from your current time zone. Add a few date/time options to your poll and make sure you add times as otherwise the time zone is not recognized. When you view the poll you created you can see the switch to change between the two time zones like your guests would. When you are done experimenting you can delete the test poll any time.

Here is an example:

Create a poll in a different time zone from your current time zone. The selected time zone will be highlighted in red.

create poll using time zone

Viewing the poll in the time zone it was created for.

poll viewed in the new york time zone

Viewing the poll in your own time zone.

poll viewed in the los angeles time zone

There is nothing like trying this for yourself. Create a test poll in a different time zone from your current time zone and make sure that you add time to your date/time suggestions. You will see that the poll has a toggle to switch between the two time zones. However, if the time zone you choose for your poll is the same as your current time zone, there won’t be any time zones to switch between.
